First Aid For Child Carers Course
Course Description:
- Designed for those involved in the care of babies and young children.
- Complies with OFSTED / Sure Start and the EYFS requirements for nurseries, pre-schools, schools and child minders. We are approved by Somerset County Council to supply Paediatric First Aid
- Paediatric first aid handbook for each participant.
At the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Assess and prioritise a first aid incident
- Deal with an unconscious child or baby
- Perform resuscitation on a child or baby
- Control bleeding and manage shock
- Recognise and deal with a wide range of common injuries and illnesses until the arrival of medical care
Length of the Course:
12 hours - which can be split into 2 x 6 hours, or 4 x 3 hour
sessions. We have lots of flexibility in how we arrange these sessions.
Course assessment
and certification:
Participants are continually assessed throughout the course.
A Paediatric Emergency First Aid Certificate, valid for 3 years, is awarded on successful
completion of the course.
Course location:
3 open courses per term held at our premises.
We will also hold the course at your workplace if you prefer.
Buffet lunch can be added to group bookings held at our premises.
